Peter Thomas Roth's VIZ-1000 75% Hyaluronic Acid Complex is a concentrated hydrating serum that amplifies the effect of your moisturizer by attracting moisture from the air and binding it to your skin. The active ingredient, sodium hyaluronate, is the salt form of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that helps maintain skin's elasticity and hydration, as well as lubricate muscles and joints. Since our bodies produce less hyaluronic acid as we age, our skin sags and becomes dehydrated which leads to a dull complexion with fine lines and wrinkles. A topical serum containing a form of hyaluronic acid can help counter signs of aging and give your complexion a healthy, supple, and radiant glow. The VIZ-1000 is an oil-free, lightweight serum with a unique blend of numerous humectants/moisturizing agents and skin softeners that help you see results almost immediately.
You can purchase Peter Thomas Roth's VIZ-1000 75% Hyaluronic Acid Complex online from websites like Sephora.com or Skinstore.com for about $65.
We give Peter Thomas Roth’s VIZ-1000 75% Hyaluronic Acid Complex Serum an A- because it is a great lightweight serum that boosts the hydrating power of your moisturizer. It features a unique blend of ingredients with humectant, moisturizing and skin softening properties. While it doesn’t actually contain pure hyaluronic acid, it does contain the salt form (sodium hyaluronate), which is also an effective humectant. We had to deduct a few points, however, because it is very expensive and because the marketing is a bit misleading. However, this is a very popular serum (including with yours truly) and is a great buy if you can afford it.
Pros
Cons
Peter Thomas Roth's VIZ-1000 75% Hyaluronic Acid Complex has received great feedback from customers on Sephora.com (4.4/5 out of 142 reviews). Elle Magazine named it the Best Skin Care Product for Oily Skin in November 2011, and it was an Allure Magazine Editor's Favorite in January 2009. I personally use this product occasionally as a substitute for SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel when Skinstore.com offers 20% discounts. Without the discount, they are both around the same price, but I prefer the lighter consistency of the SkinCeuticals gel and felt the combination of hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 made more of an improvement on my skin. That said, they are both great products, and I would suggest trying each one out to see what you prefer. Regardless of which serum I'm using, I always apply Peter Thomas Roth's Oil-Free Moisturizer on top.
