Overview

Dermalogica's Skin Hydrating Booster is an intensive moisturizing facial treatment developed with hyaluronic acid to help restore a youthful and radiant complexion. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that we produce less of as we age. It is a powerful emollient that works by nourishing collagen and absorbing moisture from the air to maintain skin's elasticity, tone and firmness. As our hyaluronic acid production decreases, skin becomes more dehydrated and starts to show signs of aging. Dermalogica's Skin Hydrating Booster replenishes hyaluronic acid in your tissues and helps your skin retain more moisture, which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The result is a more healthy, smooth and supple complexion.

You can purchase Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster on buy.dermalogica.com or skincarerx.com for $54.

Product Report Card Grade

We give Dermalogica’s Skin Hydrating Booster an A- because it is a super hydrating serum (appropriate for all skin types) that can be used alone or under your moisturizer for more intense hydration. It is fragrance-free, dye-free and oil-free, so it won’t irritate sensitive skin or clog pores. In addition to the humectant sodium hyaluronate (the salt form of hyaluronic acid), the serum contains panthenol (provitamin of B5), which helps soothe skin and promote healing. We had to deduct a few points because it is very expensive, but, if you can afford it, it is a great addition to your skincare routine.

Reputation

There aren't many customer reviews online, but the reviews I saw were uniformly positive (ex. Dermstore.com rates it 5/5 out of 17 reviews). In general, serums containing hyaluronic acid are a great daily addition to your moisturizing routine, especially if you have aging skin or live in a particularly dry climate. I personally use a hyaluronic acid serum, and, although it was tough to get past the price initially, it has become an essential part of my routine in the morning and at night.
