It is a unique anti-aging formula that uses a Natural Shiitake Complex (yes, as in shiitake mushrooms) and fine microbeads to exfoliate surface cells, speed up your skin's natural renewal process and enhance the youthful appearance of your complexion in just 4 weeks. Aveeno is known to be a pioneer in the study and use of natural ingredients in their skincare products, and so it's not surprising that they have incorporated shiitake mushrooms into this cleanser given their believed anti-aging benefits.

Reputation

There are only a few online reviews of Aveeno Daily Exfoliating Cleanser, but the ones I saw were relatively positive. Customers on Ulta.com gave it 4.4/5 (28 reviews) and customers on Amazon.com gave it 3.9/5 (16 reviews). In 2011, Women's Health Magazine said that experts picked it as the "Best Cleanser". It is a basic, affordable cleanser that is good for exfoliating sensitive skin, but it's nothing special. Definitely don't expect that it's going to be turning back the hands of time.

My overall skincare routine is washing my face everyday with Aveeno facial cleanser. I love it because every time I use this cleanser my face glows after I wash it. I then use a softner by Shisedo before I put on my Shisedo moisturizer. My face gets a triple glow meaning the cleanser, the softener and the moisturizer helps my face glow and look healthy 3x the amount. I use the Aveeno facial cleanser that prevents breakouts. Even though I have a clear face, no acne....for some reason my face always shines and feels fresh after I use the Aveeno Cleanser. That's how all facial cleaners should feel. It should not dry out your face but make you feel happy and alive.
