However, if you shop at the end of the season, you can get amazing discounts (50% or more) on high quality models. To find an affordable helmet during other times of the year, we would recommend visiting a local sports/ski shop to determine which brands/models fit you the best and then checking whether any online retailers are offering deals on older versions of those models. You may have to compromise on some bonus features (ex. adjustable vents, audio, etc.), but the most important things to keep in mind when purchasing a helmet is its fit and its safety certifications (ASTM F2040 and/or CE EN1077).
