Worst Feature:
Does not contain any antioxidants
Best Uses:
Great, inexpensive moisturizer for all skin types
Overview
CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is a dermatologist-recommended body lotion that provides long lasting hydration for all skin types, including sensitive and acne prone skin. It is a unique, non-greasy formula that contains ceramides, vital humectants and emollients, which help rehydrate dry skin, as well as restore your skin's natural protective barrier against outside irritants and moisture loss. CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is also designed with the company's patented MVE® delivery technology, which provides a controlled release of the lotion's ingredients into your skin slowly over time. With just one application, your skin will stay smooth and soft all day long!
You can purchase CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion on Amazon.com or on drugstore.com for about $13.
Product Report Card Grade
We give CeraVe’s Moisturizing Lotion an A- because we feel it is truly one of the best body lotions we have come across for all types of skin. It’s lightweight, non-greasy formula quickly absorbs into skin and provides long-lasting hydration. We deducted just a few points because it doesn’t contain any antioxidants or sunscreen.

How it works
The lotion is formulated with ceramides, humectants and emollients, and it also contains Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) delivery technology for long lasting hydration.
- Ceramides - enhance and restore skin's protective function. Ceramides are a naturally occurring component of the skin.
- Vital humectants and emollients - rehydrate skin and help it retain moisture.
- Patented Multivesicular Emulsion (MVE) formulation - helps restore and maintain the skin's natural protective barrier. MVE "traps" the lotion's active ingredients and then slowly releases them throughout the day to continuously moisturize and nourish skin.
Directions
Apply daily to hands and body. For best results, a body moisturizer should be used on lightly towel-dried skin after bathing/showering to help seal in the surface moisture.

Reputation
CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion has received excellent feedback from customers on Makeupalley.com (4.1/5 out of 363 reviews) and on Drugstore.com (5/5 out of 184 reviews). InStyle Magazine also named it "Best Body Lotion" in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Skin care expert Paula Begoun thinks this is a great lotion for normal to dry skin, and the only improvement she thinks CeraVe could make is to add antioxidants. This is a great moisturizer for normal to slight dry skin, and it also recommended by dermatologists for use with acne treatment programs. The lotion is basically the same formula as the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, but you might want to use the cream if your skin is very dry. I personally had never heard of this lotion before moving to Colorado this year, but I definitely plan on trying it after reading all of the positive feedback on it.
